About
Senior engineers who actually build things
VentureCowork isn't a consulting agency with a sales team and a bench of juniors. It's a tight network of senior engineers, led by a founder who has spent two decades in the trenches — shipping, failing, learning, and shipping again.
The team
Led by experience, powered by a network
VentureCowork is led by Rida Benhammane — but it's not a one‑person show. Behind every engagement is a network of senior engineers, each with deep expertise in their domain: backend, infrastructure, data, security, frontend, mobile.
We don't hire juniors and mark them up. When you work with us, you work with people who have 10–20 years of battle scars. People who have debugged production at 3am, migrated monoliths under traffic, and explained technical risk to boards.
This model means you get the right expert for the right problem — not whoever happens to be on the bench.
Origin
Where it started
It started with an HP 48GX — the kind of graphing calculator most students used to pass exams. But instead of solving equations, a teenage kid in Morocco figured out how to make it run a homemade clone of Snake. No internet to look things up, no one around who'd done it before. Just a thick manual, a 128KB memory limit, and the addictive feeling of bending a machine to your will.
That calculator led to Java, then to servers, then to startups. The platforms got bigger, the stakes got higher, but the core loop never changed: take something apart, understand it deeply, rebuild it better. Every architecture decision at VentureCowork traces back to that same instinct — the refusal to treat any system as a black box.
Two decades and thousands of deployments later, the tools are infinitely more powerful. But the question is still the same one that kid was asking: what's the simplest thing I can build that actually works?

Principles
How we think about work
Build, don't just advise
Credibility comes from shipping. VentureKit and the products built on it are proof of practice — not a slide deck.
Founders first
Every recommendation considers your runway, team, and stage. We won't suggest a Kubernetes migration when you have two engineers and six months of runway.
Pragmatic over perfect
Ship the 80% that matters. Get real user feedback. Refactor when the data says so, not when the architecture astronaut says so.
Transfer knowledge, not dependency
Our goal is to make ourselves unnecessary. Every engagement ends with documentation, walkthroughs, and a team that can carry it forward.
Rooted in Casablanca
Building a tech ecosystem locally while serving clients globally. Africa's startup scene deserves senior engineering — not just cheap outsourcing.
Side project turned engine
VentureKit
After years of building the same SaaS scaffolding for different clients, we extracted the patterns into an open‑source TypeScript framework. VentureKit handles routing, auth, storage, and infra‑as‑code on AWS — so we can focus on the hard problems unique to each startup. It's proof that we don't just talk about best practices; we codify them.
